This gas station is notable for two reasons: 1) If the Earth was flat, this gas station would be one of the last stops before the highway meets the abyss, and 2) despite the utter desolation of its location, there grows a fantastic melon stand that was there the last time I stopped here years ago, and I suspect it will be standing until the end of time. Just as the surrounding landscape, in all its merciless beauty, made ghost towns of Cisco and Thompson Springs, so it will claim the Conoco, the Arby's, and the Gas n' Go before the melon stand falls.
A little roadside astronomy while the carbon monoxide monitor "got some fresh air." Behold, the Solar System: inner space, outer space cinched by an asteroid belt. It's a Think Piece.
Lesson of the day: Don't close the bedroom door when there's an engine running under the bed
